Registration Procedure

Player eligibility and age groups for the Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 Seasons

For Travel Soccer
Under 10 8/1/2001 to 8/31/2003
Under 12 8/1/1999 to 7/31/2001
Under 14 8/1/1997 to 7/31/1999




Fees:

Town Program: (Fee is per season; there are two soccer seasons per year)

Regular Registration:
  • Clinic = $50 per child per registration
  • U8 to U14 = $60 per child per registration
Late Registration:
  • Add $25 to Regular Registration

Travel Program: (One fee for two seasons, BOTH Fall and Spring)*

Registration:
  • U10 to U14 = $130 per child per year

* One registration for both Fall and Spring Travel seasons. We require a commitment for both seasons for Travel players.

Payment: ONLY CREDIT CARDS are accepted for registration payment. We accept Visa, MasterCard and Discovery.

Birth Certificates are required for anyone who has not previously played in the Stoneham Soccer Club program. Please mail a copy of the certificate to:

General Program Information / Timeline

Below is a general timeline of the Stoneham Soccer Club. This may change at any point and should be used as a guide.

Fall Season Registration opens in April.

  • Town
  • Regular registration generally ends by the first week of June
  • Late registration remains open, but is an additional fee and first-come-first-serve only. We encourage all players to register early to avoid late fees and the possibility of not being placed on a team.
  • Parents should hear about team placement by September 1.
  • First game is typically the first Sunday after Labor Day.
  • U8 through U12 teams hold practices once per week.
  • Clinic does not practice during the week.
  • U14 teams may practice, but it is not required.
  • Season is 7 weeks long.
  • Travel
  • Registration ends the first week of June. This registration includes both Fall and Spring Travel seasons.
  • Tryouts occur during the first 2 weeks of June.
  • Teams are finalized by mid-July.
  • Parents should hear about team placement by the first week of August.
  • First game is typically the first Saturday after Labor Day.
  • Teams hold one to two practices per week.
  • Season is 9 weeks long.

Spring Season Registration opens in September.

  • Town:
  • Regular registration generally closes October 31.
  • Late registration remains open, but is an additional fee and first-come-first-serve only. We encourage all players to register early to avoid late fees and the possibility of not being placed on a team.
  • Teams are kept together between Fall and Spring unless
    • Players from the Fall do not re-register for the Spring.
    • Players register for the Spring that did not play in the Fall.
    • There are significant coaching changes.
    • Other circumstances handled by the commissioners and/or registrars.
  • Parents should hear about team placement by April 1
  • First game is typically the second Sunday in April.
  • U8 through U12 teams hold practices once per week.
  • Clinic does not practice during the week.
  • U14 teams may practice, but it is not required.
  • Season is 7 weeks long.
  • Travel
  • There is no registration for the Spring. Fall teams are carried over to the Spring Season.
  • Teams hold one to two practices per week.
  • Season is 10 weeks long.
 
Please Note The Following When Registering Your Child for Town Soccer

Children registered prior to the Town draft will be assigned to a team based upon the town draft procedure.

Children registered AFTER regular registration ends will be assigned in a random fashion based upon age/grade, team sizes/equity, and school placement (clinic only). SPECIFIC REQUESTS FOR PLACEMENT BASED UPON COACH, PRACTICE DAY, OR TEAMMATE PREFERENCE CAN NOT BE CONSIDERED.

Cancellation/withdrawal of the child's registration prior to the draft will be reimbursed in full.

Cancellation/withdrawal of the child's registration after the draft will be reimbursed minus the state insurance fee.

Cancellation/withdrawal of the child's registration after the first day of the season will not be reimbursed.
